Christmas trees and branches available

Last week, a few Sitka spruce trees and branches were cut and removed in the forestry in Skálabrekka.

The top one to three meters of the trees being removed were cut off and Norðurþing wants to offer companies and our residents to use them as Christmas trees. There are also a lot of branches available, we encourage you to take them and use for decoration.

The trees and branches have been placed by the path in Skálabrekka (above Hvammur, the elderly home), but there could also be some cut trees in the forest that you are welcome to take. There will not be an employee there, but it is first come, first served – free of charge.

We ask you to be careful if you go into the forest as it might be icy and slippery.
